Often a question asked amongst friends or chat that is bought up when your out for a drink with mates is
''Who are the richest football team in the world?''
Well I am writing this post to settle an argument for a friend of mine, an argument that I have found out he has lost!
Obviously as years go by, the ''Rich List'' as it is called, changes as popularity amongst clubs increases or decreases, Pre season tours can have major impacts in a clubs shirt and merchandise sales.
Of course domestic trophy's and European success play a big part in this too.
The rich list for this year which was compiled by Forbes name Manchester United as the richest club in the world for 2011.
This was the 7th year in a row that Manchester United have been named top with a reported $1.86 Billion in the bank.
In Second were Spanish Giants Real Madrid at $1.45 Billion to their name, followed by Arsenal $1.19 Billion, Bayern Munich $1.1 Billion and then European Champions Barcelona at $975 Million.
It will be interesting to see how all these teams get on this year and how it will effect their bank balances when the new list is revealed in 2012.
The full top 10 rich list was as follows

I'm Leroy, I have been an avid football fan all my life and a successful tipster for the last 2 years. I gave up my job a year ago to start betting full time and that is now my primary income which gives me plenty of time to focus on my Football betting. I spend my days now researching statistics and watching football from all across the world. Blogger has now given me the opportunity to share my football views with you and provide you with some great value bets.
